Deep, rich colour with an expressive nose of dark red fruits and coffee. Very concentrated flavours of plum, cherry, chocolate and vanilla. Soft and smooth finish. A very fine wine that will mature for 10 years.
100% very ripe Syrah aged in oak barrels for 12 months.
Laudun is an up and coming Appellation in the Southern Rhone with the same large pebbles that are found at Chateauneuf-du-Pape to the east. These retain heat to ripen grapes to a rare degree, which gives rich, deep, full wines. Unusually this wine is made from 100% Syrah (rather than a predominance of Grenache). This gives it very full sweet fruit flavours.
